Overview

This interactive 3-hour workshop helps learners strengthen creative thinking by exploring the habits, barriers, and behaviors that shape how ideas form at work. Through practical tools, guided reflection, and hands-on activities, participants learn to expand, adapt, and refine ideas using simple, repeatable techniques. Realistic team-based scenarios give learners the chance to test creative approaches within everyday constraints, building confidence to generate stronger solutions and apply creativity more deliberately in their role. The session blends individual insight with collaborative problem-solving to make creativity practical, usable, and relevant to daily work.

Prerequisites

Participants should have:

  • A foundational understanding of creative thinking principles.
  • Experience applying basic creativity tools in a work context.
  • An interest in facilitating idea generation for projects and cross-functional teams.

  • The art of thinking differently: Behaviors and barriers that shape creative thinking and how learners recognize their own creative habits.
  • Exploring tools and techniques: Practical methods such as SCAMPER, mind mapping and role-storming that support different stages of creative thinking.
  • Making creativity work: Realistic scenarios where ideas are adapted within constraints to balance originality with practical feasibility.
  • Build and apply your toolkit: A practical toolkit learners use to turn creative techniques into simple, repeatable habits for everyday problem-solving.

Exams and assessments

There are no formal exams for this workshop. Learners will engage in research tasks, group case studies, and applied activities to demonstrate practical understanding of advanced creative thinking techniques.

Hands-on learning

This workshop emphasises practical engagement through research activities, case-based exercises, and scenario-driven application. Learners will test and adapt creativity frameworks in collaborative settings and receive feedback to strengthen their ability to guide innovation in the workplace.
