Tester of the Year 2025 is Jamina Pöllänen

Voters especially highlighted her ability to make testing more visible, inspire new professionals to enter the field, and promote a stronger quality culture.

The annual testing recognition award presented by Tieturi and TestausOSY was awarded for the 19th time on 24 March 2026. The Finnish testing community has voted, and Jamina Pöllänen has been selected as the winner of the Tester of the Year 2025 title.

Jamina received the highest number of votes in a strong field of candidates. She collected 143 votes, representing 20.5% of all 698 votes cast.

Voters especially highlighted Jamina’s ability to make testing more visible and engaging, also beyond the testing profession. She was recognised for inspiring new professionals entering the field and for her active role in promoting quality and quality culture. The justifications also emphasized her strong professional competence, confident presence, continuous learning, and determination to develop both her own work and the field as a whole.

Many voters described Jamina as a role model, especially for younger professionals and those interested in a career in testing. She was praised for making the importance of testing visible in events, speaking engagements, and online, while also helping raise broader appreciation for quality assurance. Feedback repeatedly described her as inspiring, bold, skilled, and quality-driven.

The voters’ comments highlighted Jamina’s role as a visible advocate for testing, a promoter of quality culture, and an encouraging example for others. She was recognised not only for her professional expertise, but also for her ability to inspire people, support the next generation, and strengthen the standing of QA work more broadly.

The Tester of the Year recognition aims to highlight professionals who have advanced quality in their own work communities while also contributing to the testing field and the wider community of quality professionals. Jamina’s selection as Tester of the Year is recognition of her determined work in increasing the visibility of testing, strengthening appreciation for quality assurance, and promoting a stronger quality culture.
