The ISTQB® Foundation Certificate is an international qualification in software testing coordinated by the International Software Quality Testing Board (ISTQB®) and organized in Finland by the Finnish Software Testing Board (FiSTB). The Foundation Certificate is awarded to those who pass a written one-hour multiple-choice exam.
This course is based on the ISTQB® Certified Tester Foundation Level Syllabus v. 4.01, published in 2024, which combines the previous Foundation Level syllabus and the ISTQB® Agile Tester syllabus.
The course is delivered online on Gofore’s Howspace platform and includes slide material for each topic, with the instructor’s audio narration recorded over the slides. The slides are supported by course notes that explain the content in more detail. In addition, the material includes exercises for the different subject areas, and each chapter includes a practice test so you can check how well you have retained the material. The license includes access to the material for six months.
The ISTQB® Foundation Certificate course is intended for IT professionals who work in software testing and want to obtain an internationally recognized certificate in software testing.
The Finnish Software Testing Board (FiSTB) is part of TIVIA (The Association of Information Technology Professionals in Finland). Gofore Oyj is an ISTQB® training provider approved by FiSTB.
This course is offered in collaboration with Gofore Finland Oy.
After the course, you will master the basic terminology of testing and be familiar with standards and techniques. You will know different testing tools and understand what they can be used for. You will know where to find additional information about testing and be able to plan the basic steps of a testing process. You will be prepared to take the certification exam leading to the ISTQB® Foundation Certificate.
Examination
The ISTQB® Foundation examination is a closed book exam that is 60 minutes in duration (or 75 minutes for candidates taking exams outside of their native language). It has 40 multiple choice questions with each one worth one point. Candidates must score a minimum of 26 points (or 65%) to pass the exam and become a Foundation Certified Tester. Examinations are independently administered and assessed.
The cost of the exam is not included. We recommend that you take the certificate exam after the course, and book and pay your own exam (either in paper-based format or in electronic format) through TIVIA’s website.
