Mastering Your Strategic Thinking Skills

Access expert-led QA training live online, wherever you learn best.

Overview

Strategic thinking is tested when information is incomplete, priorities collide and choices carry real consequence. Volatility, overload and disruption make trade-offs harder to see and long-term value harder to protect, even in day-to-day leadership decisions. In this 3-hour mastery workshop, participants bring live strategic challenges and work through a dynamic case that forces real judgement calls. The session focuses on handling uncertainty, surfacing dilemmas, weighing value and risk, and stress-testing options under pressure, strengthened through structured peer questioning. Participants leave with concrete actions and simple routines that make strategic thinking visible in everyday decisions and team ways of working.

Prerequisites

Participants should have:

  • Substantial experience in leadership, organisational strategy, or transformation initiatives.
  • A working understanding of core business, market, or industry dynamics.
  • Familiarity with data-driven or analytical decision-making processes.

Target audience

This masterclass is designed for:

  • Executives, senior leaders, and transformation professionals responsible for strategic direction.
  • Decision-makers seeking to align large-scale initiatives with emerging global trends.
  • Leaders aiming to mentor teams in advanced strategic thinking and long-term innovation.

Objectives

By the end of this course, learners will be able to:

  • Recognize the behaviors and principles that define strategic mastery.
  • Apply peer questioning to test assumptions and surface new insights.
  • Apply strategic tools to analyze choices and adapt under pressure.
  • Design actions to embed strategic thinking in daily decisions.

Outline

  • Exploring core principles: Live strategic tensions are translated into decision discipline for uncertainty, trade offs and competing priorities.
  • Strategy lab: A disruption driven case forces value and risk calls, strategic trade offs and fast rethinking under pressure.
  • Peer challenge lab: Challenge surfaces assumptions and system drivers, sharpening judgement while keeping ownership intact.
  • Strategic thinking today and beyond: Practical habits and routines are locked in so strategic judgement shows up in everyday work

Exams and assessments

There are no formal examinations for this masterclass. Learners will engage in peer assessments, real-world strategy simulations, and self-reflective exercises to evaluate their strategic decision-making and leadership effectiveness.

Hands-on learning

Participants will work through live strategic simulations, complex market scenarios, and cross-functional case studies. Facilitated discussions and feedback sessions help translate theoretical frameworks into actionable leadership practice, ensuring immediate relevance to real-world challenges.
