ISTQB Advanced Agile Technical Tester

The Advanced Level Agile Technical Tester certification is aimed at people who wish to further
develop their expertise in technical testing aspects in an agile context. The modules offered at
the Advanced Level cover a wide range of testing topics.

People who have passed the exam should be able to accomplish the following Business Objectives:
• Apply Agile techniques to ensure tests that provide adequate coverage;
• Define testable requirements within Agile Team;
• Create and implement various Agile Test approaches using appropriate techniques;
• Support and contribute to test automation activities in an Agile project;
• Support continuous integration in an Agile Team;
• Support Agile Team in continuous delivery and deployment;
• Learn the service virtualization concepts;
• Work with, and share information with, other team members using effective communication
styles and channels.

To gain this certification, candidates must hold either a valid Certified Tester Foundation Level
certificate 4.0 (CTFL 4.0) certification OR a valid Certified Tester Foundation Level certificate
prior to the CTFL 4.0 plus a valid Certified Tester Foundation Level Agile Tester certificate, and
have sufficient practical experience. Please refer to the relevant Exam Board to determine any
specific practical experience criteria.

The Exam:
The Advanced Level Agile Techinal Tester exam has 40 multiple-choice questions, from which
you can gain 1 – 3 points per question, with the maximum of 64 points. In order to pass the
exam, you need to get 65% of the maximum points, i.e. 42 points. The duration of the exam is
90 minutes. Participants that take the exam in other than their native language, will get an additional
25% time (23 minutes).
