Arrival instructions – Helsinki

You can find us on the Töölönlahti Campus in a red brick building at Mannerheimintie 15, 00260 Helsinki. You will know our building by The Sugar Girl statue in front of it, the row of flags and the neon signs on the façade.

The renovation of Mannerheimintie started on 6 March 2023, which will result in changes to the tram and bus routes, as well as driving and walking routes. The renovation will be carried out in two phases and is expected to be completed in late 2025.

During the renovation, only one lane in each direction will be available for motor vehicles. Tram lines 4 and 10 and bus lines 63, 212, 213 and 400 will run along Runeberginkatu instead of Mannerheimintie.

For more information on schedules and other issues related to the construction site, see the City of Helsinki website.

For those using public transport

The journey from Helsinki Central Station will take roughly fifteen minutes. You can walk around Töölönlahti bay or hop on a city bike or electric scooter in the summer months.

There are plenty of public transport options. Many buses will take you to us from Elielinaukio next to the railway station (Rautatieasema), e.g., buses 40, 200, 300 and 431. You should alight on the Hesperian puisto (Hesperia park) stop and continue walking for another 250 m. You can also take trams 4 and 10 in front of department store Sokos (Mannerheimintie). You can alight on the Ooppera (Opera) stop.

During the renovation of Mannerheimintie, trams 4 and 10 will run along Runeberginkatu and Arkadiankatu to the Ooppera (Opera) stop.

From 6.3.2024, tram lines 2, 4 and 10 will no longer use the Ooppera stops, and the nearest replacement stops will be located on Ruusulankatu. The lines will bypass the Oopera intersection via Sibeliuksenkatu and Ruusulankatu.

You can get more detailed instructions by using the HSL route planner.

For those travelling by car

You can park your car in the parking areas next to the stadium or Töölö sports hall or the car park next to our campus at Töölönkatu 23. These parking spaces are subject to a fee.
