Tieturi history

Tieturi has been heavily involved in supporting the working life skills of Finns for over 40 years.

In the early days of the computer, the world and working life changed dramatically in the 1980s, as information technology became more widespread and more and more offices were equipped with brand new microcomputers. The leap from typewriters and notebooks to the computer age was not without pain. So the need for training was enormous.

It was to meet this need that Tieturi was founded in 1983. The world and working life have changed quite a bit over the years, but Tieturi has remained true to its core mission: to be at the forefront of continuous learning.

A partner for lifelong learning

Since its foundation, Tieturi has been strongly involved in supporting Finns’ skills for working life. Along the way, technology has come a long way. Since the days of ICT, Tieturi has lived with change and, above all, evolved to meet the ever-changing skills needs of working life. In the early days, the focus was more on microcomputers, operating systems, Office applications and application development, but now it is more on the application and exploitation of knowledge in the digital work environment.

Trainings are changing, but the need for them remains the same

Training in microcomputers started in the early 1980s. In the early days of the computer, the world and working life were undergoing rapid change as computing became more widespread and more and more offices were equipped with brand new microcomputers. The leap from notebooks to the computer age was not without pain. Like many new things, computers were seen as something of a threat and were not known or wanted to be used. So the need for training was enormous.

The world of work is constantly changing. Today’s changing world of work requires much more than ICT skills. Teleworking has created a new need to modernise and streamline the way work is done in organisations. People management and communication skills are also becoming increasingly essential as AI becomes more widespread.

In a rapidly changing world, lifelong learning remains one of the most important work-life skills. For decades, Tieturi has been helping organisations and individuals to be at the forefront of talent. In its over 40-year history, Tieturi has provided new learning on tens of thousands of different subjects to several hundred thousand course participants.
