Welcome to ITIL Specialist: Acquiring & Managing Cloud Services

Module zero introduces candidates to the main features of the course, including the learning plan, aims and objectives, and structure. Candidates receive a syllabus, diagram pack, glossary, and further reading and links document with links for downloading essential framework publications. Finally, the module addresses some of the most frequently asked questions about the framework.

Module 1: Understanding the Cloud

Module 1 takes candidates through what the ‘cloud’ actually is. It also explores cloud consumption and deployment models.

Module 2: Explore: Can the Organization Benefit From Cloud?

Module 2 looks at the Explore stage of the ITIL customer journey. Candidates learn how to identify the value of cloud services, create cloud strategies, and identify the benefits, outcomes, costs, and risks of introducing cloud services to a business.

Module 3: Engage: Meeting a Cloud Service Provider (CSP)

Module 3 focuses on the Engage stage of the customer journey. Candidates learn about the different types of cloud service providers and how to choose the right option for an organization. The module also addresses how to define cloud service requirements.

Module 4: Offer: Selecting the Right Services and Service Provider

Module 4 introduces the Offer stage of the customer journey. Candidates learn how to calculate return on investment and build viable business cases for cloud services.

Module 5: Review Modules 1-4

This module gives candidates an opportunity to review the knowledge they have gained in the course so far. The module includes a memory game on key terms, as well as a checker for the concepts covered in modules 1-4.

Module 6: Agree: Negotiating and Planning

Module 6 focuses on the Agree stage of the customer journey. Candidates learn how to form cloud service agreements. They also learn how responsibilities are typically shared between cloud providers and customers.

Module 7: Onboard: Moving to the Cloud

Module 8 examines the Onboard stage of the customer journey. Candidates learn about the general factors considered when onboarding users onto a new service, as well as some of the most common issues for onboarding to specific cloud services.

Module 8: Co-Create: Enabling Value

Module 8 looks at the Co-Create stage of the customer journey. Candidates learn how to manage cloud service consumption and quality throughout the life of a cloud service.

Module 9: Realize: Measuring and Improving

Module 9 addresses the Realize stage of the customer journey. Candidates learn how to maintain cloud services in a VUCA world, as well as how to apply continual improvement to cloud services.

Module 10: Review Modules 6-9

This module gives candidates an opportunity to review the knowledge they gained in modules 6-9. The module includes a memory game on key terms, as well as a checker on the concepts covered in modules 6-9.

Module 11: Practice Exams

Module 11 features two practice exams (one provided by PeopleCert and the other created by Good e-Learning). The exams are available online and in PDF format. Taking these exams can help candidates get used to the conditions of the certification exam while also testing their own preparedness.

Module 12: ITIL Specialist: AMCS Wrap-up

This module offers a short video detailing the next steps for candidates after completing the course.

  • The exam features 40 multiple-choice questions
  • The exam lasts 1.5 hours (90 minutes)
  • The exam is open-book
  • Students must score at least 26/40 points (65%) to pass
